Product Content Strategist at Virta Health

Virta is the first company with a clinically-proven treatment to safely and sustainably reverse type 2 diabetes and other chronic metabolic diseases without the use of medications or surgery. Our innovations in nutritional biochemistry, data science and digital tools combined with our clinical expertise are shifting the diabetes treatment paradigm from management to reversal. Our mission - to reverse type 2 diabetes in 100 million people by 2025.

As a member of the cross-functional treatment team, you will shape key patient content experiences and develop a consistent voice across Virta’s digital and human touch points. You will be spending a majority of time creating and editing content across the treatment product. A typical day will be a mix of strategic, creative, analytical and tactical work--much of this done in collaboration with other teams. 

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to a cross-functional team of product managers, designers, engineers, data scientists, health coaches, medical providers, and clinical scientists
  • Define the content strategy and roadmap for the product with cross-functional partners 
  • Write clear and concise content across multiple product surfaces (including product names, navigational elements, emails, resource articles, tutorials, notifications, patient education modules, call scripts, community prompts)
  • Develop, maintain and evolve a content style guide for patient-facing content that reflects Virta’s mission and key brand tenets and socialize these resources across the company
  • Understand the impact of your work by partnering with product managers and data scientists and using analytics tools
  • Launch, test and iterate  on email lifecycle engagement programs for patients

90 Day Plan

Within your first 90 days at Virta, we expect you will do the following:

  • Gain a strong understanding of our patients, product and our evidence-based treatment
  • Partner with cross-functional team to create a content roadmap and a process for managing content needs 
  • Create a first draft of the patient content style guide
  • Develop a lifecycle communication plan for our patients and put into motion at least 5 pieces of outbound communication (plan, create, edit, launch & test)
  • Partner with cross-functional team to develop patient education content for multiple touchpoints and a variety of formats

Requirements

  • 5+ years content strategy experience
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Strong understanding of user experience and interaction patterns
  • Experience writing content for web and mobile products and developing style guides
  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional partners
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Passion for Virta’s mission and our diverse set of patients
  • Portfolio of writing samples
  • Experience with reengagement content or patient-facing content a plus
