As a VP of Sales for Virta you will be responsible for managing a national sales team who sells to self insured employers in the mid-market to jumbo space (5,000 employees and above). You will have the opportunity to help build our commercialization efforts and capitalize on the national attention Virta is receiving for our industry-changing work. 


  • Managed a distributed team of field-based sales reps selling into enterprises
  • Pick up established prospect funnel and work with the team move prospective clients through to contracting phase and close
  • Leverage demand generation work from marketing team to create new opportunities
  • Further promote Virta as an innovative online diabetes reversal clinic
  • Work closely with Vitra team members to provide client/prospect feedback

90 Day Plan

Within your first 90 days at Virta, we expect you will do the following:

  • Build internal relationships with Virta team members
  • Learn the Virta story and be able to pitch to prospective clients
  • Assess the structure and quality of the team
  • Close existing deals in the contracting stage of the pipeline
  • Create and begin executing business plan for success  


  • Experience managing a national sales team
  • Experience leading teams selling an innovative healthcare solution to HR leadership at large self funded clients
  • Quantifiable history of hitting personal and team sales targets
  • Ability to present clearly to key decision makers
  • Experience in complex health care contracting 
  • Ability to proactively manage pipeline, deal flow and contracting process 
  • Knowledge of tactics to unlock opportunities at different stages of the funnel
  • Demonstrated collaboration with internal colleagues (marketing, product, ops, etc.) to support sales momentum
  • Bonus points for:
    • Existing relationships with key decision makers at large organizations
    • Knowledge of Type 2 diabetes and of potential competitors
