Manager, Facilities Operations and Spaces at Virta Health

Virta is the first company with a clinically-proven treatment to safely and sustainably reverse type 2 diabetes and other chronic metabolic diseases without the use of medications or surgery. Our innovations in nutritional biochemistry, data science and digital tools combined with our clinical expertise are shifting the diabetes treatment paradigm from management to reversal. Our Team is looking for a strategic thinker who is excited about creating an exceptional experience throughout all of Virta Health’s physical spaces. This person is comfortable with hands on management for direct reports in multiple locations and navigating multiple stakeholder relationships, including vendors and real estate partnerships to internal ERG’s, Finance, and Security. They will be based in San Francisco, but need to be comfortable with travel as they will lead all our office spaces, and specifically the Denver, CO Office relocation project.


  • Work cross-functionally and with internal and external resources to proactively build a best-in-class workplace experience that reflects Virta’s culture and values
  • Responsible for building operations at our office in San Francisco, where you’ll be based out of, and shared workspaces in Omaha, NE and West Lafayette, IN as well as the buildout of a Denver, CO office
  • Lead, manage, and develop a team (office managers, administrators, vendors, contractors, etc.) to support operations at each location
  • Create and manage office policies and procedures, prioritizing and aligning culture, safety, security, sustainability, and wellness
  • Communicate program and policy information with regular updates to all Virtans
  • Handle Virtan requests with a high degree of customer service and ensure Virta’s environments are productive, fun, inclusive and stimulating
  • Manage the delivery of facility services in all locations, including: facility management, security, food services, events, space management, office services and local project management
  • Proactively communicate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with each location’s leaders, coordinating all services and commitments
  • Develop metrics and benchmarks for measuring employee satisfaction and workplace standards
  • Manage facilities’ budget and spending for services, ensuring quality and service levels are met

90 Day Plan

Within your first 90 days at Virta:

  • Establish relationships with existing People & Places Team members, specifically SF and Denver, CO Office Managers
  • Review existing spaces and vendor relationships and provide recommendations to improve
  • Work with existing external real estate partner to survey location and finalize lease for new office space in Denver, CO, including any required buildout (preference for plug-and-play spaces!)


  • Minimum of 7-10+ years relevant work experience ideally with a combination of facilities, operations, and event management at a fast-growing organization
  • Demonstrate extremely high emotional intelligence and empathy
  • People management skills & experience, including hiring, performance management and coaching/mentoring
  • Experience delivering best in class customer service demonstrated by a willingness to put Virtans’ needs first and the ability to work with and influence individuals throughout Virta
  • A thought leader with a passion for building communities and making workplaces operate seamlessly
  • Strong project management skills with excellent attention to detail, great organizational skills, and solid judgment capabilities.
  • Familiarity with move and space planning management logistics and tools 
  • Equally awesome verbal and written communication skills, including ability to write department operational/maintenance SOP’s
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EH+S, FDA and other standards and regulations
  • A positive outlook coupled with the requisite “can do” attitude and a willingness to do what it takes to achieve personal and organizational goals and overcome obstacles
