Business Development Manager at Ayar Labs

The Business Development Manager works to generate new opportunities, strategic partnerships, high value contracts, and agreements, to grow our business and revenue.  Responsible for a variety of activities and deliverables including identifying new business opportunities, new markets, new partnerships, new ways to reach existing markets, or new product or service offerings to better meet the needs of existing and new markets. Building and maintaining valuable industry and customer relationships is a core skill set and expectation to help meet the goals above. The Business Development Manager is expected to use these opportunities to bring in more revenue and billings to meet our corporate OKR targets.  

 This position requires an abundant sense of urgency and frequent daily communication and responsiveness with team members, customers, and partners.  Travel to meet with customers, up to 50% of the time (as conditions permit), is expected.

Essential Functions:
  • Responding to customer RF(x) requests
  • Compose proposals for government and commercial customers
  • Proactive engagement with existing and potential customers to explore potential business opportunities
  • Conceptualize and drive design win and design in activities with customers in pursuit of revenue
  • Demonstrate understanding of our technology and applicability in customer meetings; understanding of customers' technical and business challenges
  • Working with marketing on collateral and campaign development
  • Working with product management as the voice of the customer to define future products
  • Supporting key internal business and product  strategy discussions
  • Developing MRDs in support of product and roadmap definition 
  • Working with FAEs to resolve customer concerns and issues
  • Working with solution architects to define solutions that meet customer needs
  • Timely action on customer hand-offs and requests
  • Daily communication and responsiveness with internal and external customers
  • Provide specialist advice on the products and/or services we are selling
  • Assist in complex price and NRE negotiations
  • Provide management with BDM’s progress and timeline, provide accurate forecasting of anticipated revenue/billings
  • Liaison between customer and internal team on business topics
  • Coordinate internal strategy and decisions relative to industry standards and alliances
  • Track program milestones with special attention to those related to revenue/payments
  • Understanding of Product packaging and system constraints
  • Understanding of Product warranty and customer support expectations
  • Attend events and networking, participate at exhibitions and conferences, cold calling, and responding to incoming leads, and identifying partner opportunities to cross and up-sell services

Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with MBA or equivalent experience
  • 15+ years of Business Development for Technology with expertise across all aspects of Business Development, communications, marketing, product management, and relationship management
  • Expertise in datacenter, cloud, HPC, AI, telco, aerospace, and/or related fields
  • Experience working with large multinational ASIC/CPU vendors, OEMs, TEMs, and System Integrators is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to be a self starter, able to quickly ramp, and handle multiple complex projects concurrently
